Fire Weather Planning Forecast FOR S Cntrl and Sern Colorado
National Weather Service Pueblo Co
808 PM MDT Wed Apr 24 2024

...A Red Flag Warning is in effect for portions of the area
from 10 AM to 8 PM MDT Thursday...

.Discussion...

Warmer and more dry conditions are forecast to continue through
late this week, with a more impactful and widespread fire danger
event expected for tomorrow ahead of an approaching low pressure
system.

Isolated showers and thunderstorms return to the eastern plains
tomorrow afternoon and evening, as does some light snow to the
higher terrain. More widespread precipitation chances and cooler
temperatures are anticipated for Saturday and Sunday, then warmer
conditions will develop once again for the next work week.

Ventilation rates will degrade to Poor by 2100 this evening.
Surface-based inversions will begin to break by 0900 tomorrow
morning, with smoke dispersion improving to Excellent for all
areas by 1200. Favorable ventilation rates will remain in place
until between 2000 and 2100. Similar smoke dispersion trends are
anticipated for Friday.
