...A strong thunderstorm will impact portions of northwestern Lee
County through 630 PM CDT...

At 550 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over
Franklin, or 10 miles west of Fort Madison, moving northwest at 15
mph.

HAZARD...Winds in excess of 40 mph and penny size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could cause minor tree limb damage and blow
         around unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects
         is possible.

Locations impacted include...
West Point, Donnellson, Franklin, St. Paul, Pilot Grove, Houghton,
Charleston, Mt Hamill, Lee County Fairgrounds, Sawyer, Primrose,
Pollmiller Park, and Wilson Lake.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Heavy rainfall is occurring and may lead to localized flooding.
Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways. Stay away from
flooded areas. Report any flooding to local law enforecement.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
