...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL AFFECT THE FOLLOWING COUNTIES...
SOUTHWESTERN ST. BERNARD AND NORTHWESTERN PLAQUEMINES PARISHES UNTIL
1100 AM CDT...

At 1016 AM CDT...A strong thunderstorm was located 6 miles southwest
of Shell Beach, or 15 miles east of Belle
Chasse moving southeast at 30 mph.

Winds in excess of 40 mph will be possible with this storm.

Locations impacted include...
Port Sulphur, Belle Chasse, Shell Beach, Pointe A La Hache, Poydras
and Violet.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.

This storm may intensify so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional
information and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.
