...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL CONTINUE AFFECT SOUTHEASTERN SCOTLAND
COUNTY UNTIL 1130 PM EDT...

At 1101 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over
Maxton, or 7 miles east of Laurinburg, moving northeast at 55 mph.

While latest radar signatures hint at some weakening occurring, Pea
size hail and wind gusts up to 50 mph will still be possible with
this storm.

Locations impacted include...
Laurinburg, Maxton and East Laurinburg.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Seek shelter in a nearby building or vehicle. Wind gusts as high as
50 mph are capable of knocking down small or weakened trees and
blowing around trash cans, potted plants, lawn furniture and other
light outdoor objects.

Very heavy rain can be expected due to the slow movement of this
storm. Prolonged heavy rain will result in ponding of water on
roadways, standing water in low lying areas, and minor flooding of
creeks and streams. Drivers are urged to slow down and use extra
caution to avoid hydroplaning.
