            A few golfball sized stones than hail sized
            dropped a bit smaller...size unknown. Lasted
            between 10 and 15 minutes.

At least two small but potent thunderstorms moved through southern
Hidalgo County between 7 AM and 830 AM on May 17th. Hail cores were
evident on radar, and several public reports indicated hail between
quarter and golf ball size, with some instances of hail covering
the ground and lasting more than 10 minutes.  No damage had been
reported as of early afternoon.
