...ELEVATED HEAT INDEX VALUES OF 100 TO 110 DEGREES EXPECTED THIS
AFTERNOON ACROSS MUCH OF DEEP SOUTH TEXAS...

The combination of hot temperatures reaching into in the 90s to
near 102 degrees and dewpoints ranging in the lower to mid 70s
will result in elevated heat index values from 100 to 110 degrees
across much of Deep South Texas this afternoon.

Drink plenty of water...before you get thirsty. Wear lightweight
and light colored clothing. Reserve strenuous exercise for early
morning or evening hours. Stay in air conditioned locations if
possible.

Young children and pets should never be left unattended in
vehicles under any circumstances. Car interiors can reach lethal
temperatures in minutes.
