Rangeland Fire Danger Statement

.DISCUSSION...Mostly sunny and dry today with breezy northwest
winds in the morning and early afternoon. Winds will be strongest
over south central where winds of 15 to 25 mph and gusts of up to
40 mph are possible. Elsewhere winds will be from 10 to 20 mph,
gusting up to 30 mph. Winds will diminish through the afternoon
hours. Highs today will be in the low to mid 60s with afternoon
RHs ranging from 20 to 30%.

...MODERATE FIRE DANGER...

The grassland fire danger index will reach the moderate category
this afternoon. Marginal weather conditions or a lowering
moisture content of grasses, and other dry organic material on
the ground, indicate that there is some potential for a fire
to spread. Any outdoor burning should be closely monitored.

...LOW FIRE DANGER...

The grassland fire danger index will reach the low category this
afternoon. Favorable weather conditions or a high moisture
content of grasses, and other dry organic material on the ground,
indicate that the probability of a fast moving fire is low.
Outdoor burning under these conditions can usually be performed
with reasonable safety precautions, but should be monitored.

The outlook for Wednesday afternoon, The grassland fire danger
index will reach the low category to moderate category.
