Today:

Mostly clear skies during the evening and shortly after midnight
allowed for viewing of the spectacular Aurora display over Iowa. The
wind early this morning was from the west at 8 mph or less.
Temperatures at 3 am were in the mid 40s to mid 50s.

Today will be an outstanding day with mostly sunny skies and high
temperatures in the 70s. Low humidity and westerly winds at 10 to 15
mph will help contribute to the pleasant conditions.

Tonight and beyond:

The wind will become light from the south by this evening and the
southerly winds will help bring warmer temperatures for Sunday with
many locations having high temperatures in the 80s. Clouds and
thunderstorm chances will be increasing during the afternoon hours
from southwest to northeast. The precipitation chances will persist
into Monday. Tuesday will be dry before another chance for showers and
thunderstorms return by late Wednesday. High temperatures for the
early the mid week period will be in the upper 60s to mid 70s.
