Open Lake Forecast for Lake Erie

For waters beyond five nautical miles of shore on Lake Erie

Waves are the significant wave height - the average of the highest
1/3 of the wave spectrum. Occasional wave height is the average of
the highest 1/10 of the wave spectrum.

.SYNOPSIS...
A stationary front currently near the south shore of the lake will
drift south through today. On Sunday, low pressure 29.50 inches
will move northeast reaching western Lake Erie. This will buckle
the stationary front northward out onto the lake. As the low
crosses Ontario Sunday night it will bring a cold front across the
lake. A ridge averaging 30.10 inches will move across Lake Erie
Tuesday. Low pressure 29.40 inches will reach the western lakes
Wednesday and bring a warm front north to Lake Erie.

SUNDAY AFTERNOON...

.TODAY...Northeast winds 15 to 25 knots increasing to 35 knot
gales this afternoon. Rain showers. Waves 3 to 5 feet building to
9 to 12 feet.
.TONIGHT...Northeast gales to 35 knots becoming east and
diminishing to 30 knots after midnight. Rain showers. Waves 8 to
12 feet subsiding to 7 to 10 feet.
.SUNDAY...East winds to 30 knots becoming southeast and
diminishing to 10 to 15 knots in the afternoon. Rain showers.
Waves 7 to 10 feet subsiding to 3 to 5 feet. Waves occasionally
around 13 feet.
.SUNDAY NIGHT...Southwest winds 5 to 15 knots becoming west. Rain
showers likely. Waves 2 to 4 feet subsiding to 1 to 2 feet.
.MONDAY...West winds 15 to 20 knots. A chance of rain and snow
showers during the day, then a chance of snow showers Monday
night. Waves 1 to 3 feet building to 2 to 4 feet.
.TUESDAY...West winds 15 to 20 knots becoming northeast 5 to
15 knots. Waves 2 to 4 feet subsiding to 1 foot or less.
.WEDNESDAY...East winds 5 to 15 knots becoming west 15 to
20 knots. A chance of rain showers during the day. Waves 1 to
3 feet.
