...RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 1 PM THIS AFTERNOON TO 7 PM
EDT THIS EVENING FOR LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY AND BREEZY CONDITIONS
ACROSS SOUTHERN PORTIONS OF EAST CENTRAL FLORIDA...

The National Weather Service in Melbourne has issued a Red Flag
Warning, which is in effect from 1 PM this afternoon to 7 PM EDT
this evening.

* AFFECTED AREA...Okeechobee, Indian River and St. Lucie counties.

* TIMING...1 PM through 7 PM today.

* WINDS...Southwest 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph.

* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...As low as 33 percent.

* TEMPERATURES...In the mid to upper 90s.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now....or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds...low relative humidity...and warm temperatures can
contribute to extreme fire behavior.
