.SYNOPSIS...
High pressure building over the Southwest will bring warmer days
Tuesday and Wednesday. Thursday and Friday will be a little
cooler, then high pressure builds back over the region for
warmer weather next weekend.

.DISCUSSION...FOR EXTREME SOUTHWESTERN CALIFORNIA INCLUDING ORANGE...
SAN DIEGO...WESTERN RIVERSIDE AND SOUTHWESTERN SAN BERNARDINO
COUNTIES...

Clear skies tonight with drier air filling in behind the departing
trough that brought the weekend rain, wind and cold. The PWAT on the
00Z sounding was 0.47", down from 0.57" 24 hours prior. Today was
another cool day with highs 3 to 8 degrees below average, and
tonight will be another cold night.

Warmer days are ahead with high pressure building over the southwest
Tuesday and Wednesday when highs will be 3 to 8 degrees above
average. Highs will range from 68-73 near the coast, 74-82 in the
valleys, 62-72 in the mountains, 75-85 in the High Desert, and 91-96
in the Lower Deserts.

Thursday and Friday will be slightly cooler and with more clouds as
the a weak trough passes over the region. But then a weak ridge
rebuilds over the Southwest for sunny skies and warmer days over the
weekend. For a change.

.AVIATION...
160430Z...Coast/Valleys...Patchy low clouds will occur near the
coast through 16Z Tue with mostly BKN bases 1000-1500 ft MSL and
tops to 1600 ft MSL. Local vis 3-5 miles will occur over higher
coastal terrain and the valleys. Otherwise, mostly clear skies with
unrestricted VIS will prevail through Tue, with patchy low clouds
developing along the coast Tue evening.

Mountains/Deserts...Mostly clear skies with unrestricted VIS will
prevail through Tue evening.

.MARINE...
No hazardous marine conditions are expected through Saturday.

.BEACHES...
An increasing southerly swell of 3 feet at 18 seconds will lead to
elevated surf of 3 to 5 feet with local sets to 6 feet Wednesday
through Thursday, with highest surf on south-facing beaches in
Orange County.
