...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT CENTRAL STARR COUNTY THROUGH
1045 PM CDT...

At 1014 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over
Las Lomas, or near Garciasville, moving northeast at 40 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Rio Grande City, Starr County Sheriffs Office, La Puerta, Ringgold
Middle School, Las Lomas, Rio Grande City Fire Department, Santa
Cruz, Fort Ringgold County Park, Rio Grande City Library, and Rio
Grande City--roma.

This includes US Highway 83 between mile markers 820 and 828.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.

This storm may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.
