Rating: EF-1 Estimated Peak Wind: 100 mph Path Length /statute/: 0.29 miles Path Width /maximum/: 200 yards Fatalities: 0 Injuries: 2 Start Date: 04/28/2024 Start Time: 7:35 PM CDT Start Location: 4 ESE Trinity / Trinity County / TX Start Lat/Lon: 30.9102 / -95.316 End Date: 04/28/2024 End Time: 7:36 PM CDT End Location: 4 ESE Trinity / Trinity County / TX End Lat/Lon: 30.9121 / -95.311 Survey Summary: An NWS survey confirmed that a short-lived EF1 tornado with maximum estimated winds of 100 mph impacted the Rock Creek Subdivision in Trinity. Based on radar estimates and discussion with residents of the area, we estimate that the tornado was on the ground for 1-2 minutes, between approximately 7:35 and 7:36 PM CDT. The tornado destroyed a home in the subdivision, and two of its occupants sustained injuries. Widespread tree damage and damage to vehicles was also observed along an approximate 500 yard long and 200 yard wide path. && EF Scale: The Enhanced Fujita Scale classifies tornadoes into the following categories: EF0.....65 to 85 mph EF1.....86 to 110 mph EF2.....111 to 135 mph EF3.....136 to 165 mph EF4.....166 to 200 mph EF5.....>200 mph NOTE: The information in this statement is preliminary and subject to change pending final review of the event and publication in NWS Storm Data. $$
