603 FNUS53 KMQT 100916 FWFMQT FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR UPPER MICHIGAN National Weather Service Marquette MI 516 AM EDT Fri May 10 2024 ...DRY EARLY, BUT RAIN COMING THIS AFTERNOON... .DISCUSSION: The dry weather ends this afternoon as the ridging overtop us gives way to a low pressure coming down from Canada this afternoon and evening. As this happens, we could see min RHs get down into the 20 percents (and possibly the teens) across the interior areas ahead of the incoming rain showers. However, once the rain moves over the area this afternoon and evening, expect the RHs to rise quickly. Overall, a full RH recovery up to at least 90 percent (if not 100 percent) is expected across the entire U.P. tonight. While rainfall amounts are projected to not be that much (around 0.25 inches or less), given the cellular nature of the rain showers (and possibly a thunderstorm here or there near Wisconsin), some spots could receive a bit more while others get nothing at all. Dry weather returns Saturday as another high pressure ridge moves overtop us.
