Hydrologic Statement

.The combination of snowmelt, recently frozen ground, and forecast of
one to two inches of rainfall through Wednesday will lead to river
rises approaching flood stage along the Smoky Hill River and Big Creek
across Trego and Ellis County later in the week.


For the Big Creek Near Hays 2SSE, the latest stage is 7.7 feet at 09
AM Tuesday. The flood stage is 26.0 feet. It is forecast
to crest around 15.6 feet Thursday morning (3/15).

For the Smoky Hill River Near Arnold 12N, the latest stage is 2.3
feet at 08 AM Tuesday. The flood stage is 7.0 feet. It is forecast
to crest around 5.3 feet Thursday (3/15) around noon.

Continue to monitor noaa all hazards radio or commercial broadcasts
for further information.
