...Rises forecast to occur on the Tennessee River at Florence...

Heavy rainfall upstream of the Tennessee Valley occurred over
portions of the Carolinas. While no rainfall has occurred locally
over the past few days, river levels on the Tennessee River are
rising due to releases at local dams. As a result, the Tennessee
River at Florence will approach Action Stage today, with water
levels expected to fall back to normal levels of 14 feet close
to midnight tonight.

At 9 AM Wednesday the stage was 15.5 feet. Action Stage is 16.0
feet. Flood Stage is 18.0 feet. The river is forecast to rise to 15.8
feet by early this afternoon, falling by midnight tonight.

All persons with interests along the river should monitor the latest
forecasts...and be prepared to take necessary precautions to protect
life and property from rising river levels.
