Currently - An elongated Atlantic Ridge stretching westward
across Florida and the Gulf of Mexico is driving gentle easterly
breezes across the Keys this evening. This steady flow is
maintaining seasonably warm and humid conditions. Temperatures are
currently near 80 with dew points in the mid 70s. Meanwhile, mid
to upper level ridging reaching north northeastward through the
Gulf of Mexico is slowly shifting eastward closer to our area.
This evenings sounding indicated a good amount of backing through
the lower levels and some inhibition and drier air between
roughly 900 and 750 mb. As a result of the above, shower activity
has been extremely limited across the broader area, with only a
few clusters along old seabreeze boundaries over Cuba and South
Florida. The Keys have been dry.

Short Term Update - Robust lower level ridging will remain across
Florida. This will keep breezes light to gentle with a gradual
nudge towards east southeasterly. Ridging will become
increasingly dominant through the mid and upper levels. Forecast
soundings suggest lower level inhibition will strengthen while
moisture will wane a bit. This along with a continued backing
profile will result in an inhospitable environment for showers.
Will keep out mention of pops. Expect overnight lows in the upper
70s with dew points remaining in the mid 70s.
