There is a slight chance for thunderstorms late this afternoon, with an increasing chance for thunderstorms this evening into tonight. The main threats will be hail, damaging winds up to 60 mph, and frequent lightning. A tornado can`t be ruled out west of the Mississippi River, but this is a low threat. Locally heavy rainfall is also possible with the potential for localized flooding should any area see repeated rounds of storms. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...THURSDAY THROUGH TUESDAY On Thursday, a few thunderstorms are possible as a cold front moves through the area. However, severe storms are not expected. .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT... Spotter activation may be needed this afternoon and evening, mainly between 4 pm and 10 pm.
