PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

* WHERE...Little Sioux River at Cherokee.

* WHEN...Until further notice.

* IMPACTS...At 19.0 feet, the north bank of the river overflows.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 5:00 AM CDT Wednesday the stage was 19.8 feet.
  - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
    ending at 5:00 AM CDT Wednesday was 20.0 feet.
  - Forecast...The river will fall to 19.5 feet this evening. It
    will then rise to 19.6 feet just after midnight tonight. It
    will fall to 17.5 feet Saturday evening. It will then rise to
    17.7 feet early Sunday afternoon. It will fall again but
    remain above flood stage.
  - Flood stage is 17.0 feet.

* WHERE...Little Sioux River at Spencer.

* WHEN...Until further notice.

* IMPACTS...At 14.0 feet, city sewers in Spencer can begin to back
  up. Highway 18 between Spencer and Dickens can start flooding if
  flows on the tributary creeks are also very high.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 5:00 AM CDT Wednesday the stage was 12.4 feet.
  - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
    ending at 5:00 AM CDT Wednesday was 12.4 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to fall to 11.0 feet Sunday
    evening.
  - Flood stage is 10.0 feet.

    ending at 4:00 AM CDT Wednesday was 13.7 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 14.2
    feet just after midnight tonight.
