Elevated to near critical fire weather conditions are expected this afternoon across western and southwest Nebraska, due to a combination of low relative humidities and strong northwesterly winds with gusts of 45 miles per hour or greater. Scattered thunderstorms are possible this afternoon and evening over north central Nebraska. A few storms may be strong to briefly severe with large hail and damaging winds. The main area of concern for severe storms is along and east of Highway 183. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Monday. Additional rain and thunderstorms are likely Wednesday evening through early Thursday morning. A few storms may again become strong to briefly severe with the main concerns being isolated hail up to one inch in diameter, damaging winds, and locally heavy rainfall. The main area of concern is south of a line from Grant to North Platte to Broken Bow. Thunderstorms are possible Friday night and again on Sunday night across portions of the area.
