.DISCUSSION...

Critically dry fuels remain over the western portions of the
region. Critical relative humidity continues each day west of the
dryline and the dryline is pushed east of the entire region on
Monday. Localized elevated to near critical conditions may develop
across portions of southeast New Mexico this afternoon. Wind
speeds increase on Monday resulting in widespread critical fire
weather conditions across areas with critically dry fuels. A Red
Flag Warning is in effect for those areas as a result. With
similar conditions expected to Tuesday a Fire Weather Watch has
also been issued. These conditions may persist on Wednesday as
well. Despite widespread critical relative humidity, recent rains
limit eastward extent of fire weather concerns. Thursday sees a
cold front enter the region and this clears the region on Friday
effectively ending fire weather concerns for now.
