Fire Weather Planning Forecast for NW Oregon and SW Washington
National Weather Service Portland OR
246 PM PDT Thu Apr 19 2018

.BROADCAST DISCUSSION...Dry weather to continue overnight tonight
into Friday morning. Increasing clouds on Friday, with a chance of
rain starting in the afternoon through Saturday morning. Dry
weather returns on Sunday and continues into next week.

.DISCUSSION...Southwest Washington and Northwest Oregon remain
under high pressure today as a ridge moves across the area. Winds
are relatively light and mostly out of the north and northwest.
Will see increasing clouds starting Friday morning with the
approach of a weak cold front. Will see a chance of rain starting
Friday afternoon along the coast and spreading inland overnight
Friday night into Saturday morning. Rain amounts will be fairly
light, generally less than one-tenth of an inch, so chance of
wetting rain will be low. Showers will taper off Saturday morning
behind the front, though we may still have a few lingering showers
Saturday afternoon in our south Washington zones. A weak front
moves through on Sunday, but this front will be dry and only bring
high clouds. A strong ridge builds up over the region on Monday,
bringing a long stretch of dry and warmer weather. Expect to see
the warmest temperatures so far this year early next week.
