...Dangerous conditions to develop on north and east coasts...

Dangerous seas will continue across the Atlantic waters and local passages
as two large swell events affect the local area through next week. First, a
northeasterly swell will continue to affect the Atlantic waters through
Friday and will maintain dangerous seas, high surf, and life-threatening rip
currents along the north and east coasts of the local islands.

Then, a significant northwest to north swell event will affect the local
area from Sunday through the middle of next week, which will be generating
breaking waves of 20 feet or more. This swell event will create life-
threatening rip currents, as well as coastal flooding and beach erosion
along the west to northeast coasts of Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin
Islands. Beachgoers, as well as surfers, are advised to avoid beaches
exposed to the Atlantic Ocean and local passages during this dangerous swell
event. Some roads near the coast may be flooded with salt water and
impassible. For more information, refer to the Coastal Hazards Message
issued by the National Weather Service in San Juan.
