215 FNUS55 KBOU 052119 FWFBOU Fire Weather Forecast for Northeast and North Central Colorado National Weather Service Denver/Boulder CO 319 PM MDT Sun May 5 2024 ...FIRE WEATHER WATCH IN EFFECT FROM MONDAY MORNING THROUGH MONDAY EVENING FOR FIRE ZONE 247... ...HIGH WIND WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 3 AM MONDAY TO 6 AM MDT TUESDAY FOR THE FRONT RANGE FOOTHILLS... .DISCUSSION...Tonight and Monday...Warm and windy conditions will continue this afternoon and evening. Overnight humidity recovery is expected to be good across the high country and far eastern plains with modest recovery across the I-25 corridor. Mountain snow is expected to develop later tonight and continue through Monday with light to moderate accumulations along and west of the divide. Across the plains, cooler temperatures are forecast, but generally dry and windy conditions are anticipated, with critical fire weather conditions likely over southern Lincoln county. Daytime minimum humidity values will fall to as low as 10-20 percent across the plains with wind gusts up to 50 mph. Excellent smoke dispersal is expected for the entirety of the forecast area on Monday afternoon. LONG TERM DISCUSSION...Monday night through Friday...It will be very windy Monday night and Tuesday with lower humidity across the plains. However, it still not clear how dry vegetation is due to a wet period in the latter half of April. At this time, it appears areas over southern Lincoln county have the greatest threat of critical fire condition both days. Winds are expected to be somewhat lighter on Wednesday. However, they may be strong enough to present fire weather concerns across Southern Lincoln County during the afternoon. By Thursday another cool front will move into the area bringing a chance of precip and cooler temperatures to the forecast area. ...Thunderstorms imply strong gusty erratic winds... ...All surface winds are 20-Foot...10-Minute averaged winds... ...CWR is Chance of Wetting Rain - 0.10 inch or more liquid... ...24 HR Trends are based on averages over the respective zone groups and may not match the actual forecast values shown in those groups...
