...A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1030 PM CDT
FOR SOUTHEASTERN ELK...WILSON...NORTHWESTERN LABETTE...WESTERN
NEOSHO...MONTGOMERY...EASTERN CHAUTAUQUA...EASTERN WOODSON AND ALLEN
COUNTIES...

At 933 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from near Yates Center to 5 miles northwest of Hulah,
moving north at 60 mph.

HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts and nickel size hail.

SOURCE...Emergency management.

IMPACT...Expect considerable tree damage. Damage is likely to mobile
         homes, roofs, and outbuildings.

Locations impacted include...
Coffeyville, Independence, Chanute, Iola, Neodesha, Fredonia,
Cherryvale, Caney, Humboldt, Yates Center, La Harpe, Gas, Thayer,
Dearing, Altoona, Elk City, Buffalo, Tyro, Neosho Falls, and Peru.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 1100 PM CDT for southeastern
Kansas.

building.
