...A Look Back at the Climate for the Month of March 2024 for
Chicago and Rockford...

At Chicago, the average high temperature was 52.9 degrees, which
is 5.9 degrees above normal. The average low temperature was
35.1 degrees, which is 4.1 degrees above normal. The average
temperature for the month was 44.0 degrees, which is 5.0 degrees
above normal. 3.59 inches of liquid precipitation were recorded,
which is 1.14 inches above normal. 1.0 inches of snow were
recorded, which is 4.5 inches below normal.

No daily or top ten monthly records were set for Chicago during
this past March.

At Rockford, the average high temperature was 53.4 degrees, which
is 6.9 degrees above normal. The average low temperature was
32.3 degrees, which is 4.2 degrees above normal. The average
temperature for the month was 42.8 degrees, which is 5.5 degrees
above normal. 4.58 inches of liquid precipitation were recorded,
which is 2.18 inches above normal. 5.6 inches of snow were
recorded, which is 0.7 inches above normal.

The following daily records were set for Rockford this past
March:
* Record daily high temperature of 75 degrees set on the 3rd.
* Record daily high temperature of 75 degrees set on the 4th.
* Tied record daily high temperature of 71 degress on the 11th.
* Record daily snowfall of 5.6 inches set on the 22nd.
