...New LONG TERM...
.SHORT TERM...
(Rest of today through Wednesday)
Issued at 1218 PM EDT Tue Apr 16 2024
Tranquil conditions continue over the area today, as mid-lvl
ridging oriented over the central GOM builds towards the area and
high pressure over the western Atlantic continues to support
moderate easterly low-lvl flow. Given the dynamic subsidence,
rain chances will remain near zero with clouds generally being
limited to scattered shallow cumulus. High temperatures will
range from near normal over the east coast to slightly above
normal over the Interior and Sofl. The more established easterly
flow will result in overnight lows increasing back to near climo
over the east coast tonight (upper 60s to lower 70s).
The aforementioned synoptic pattern remains in place on Wednesday
with ridging remaining in control and continued dry conditions.
Slightly higher mid-lvl heights and slightly weaker easterly flow
will result in temperatures ticking up a degree or two relative to
today, generally ranging from the low to mid 80s on the east
coast, to the mid to upper 80s over Interior and SW Florida.

.LONG TERM...
(Wednesday night through next Monday)
Issued at 315 PM EDT Tue Apr 16 2024
Upper level ridging will prevail across the Gulf of Mexico and
the Florida peninsula through much of the extended period,
allowing for generally dry and warm conditions to continue.
Near the surface, high pressure will remain over the western Atlantic
through the end of the work week, allowing for continued easterly
flow across the area.
Temperatures will gradually warm through the period, with highs
reaching the lower 90s across much of the interior near the end
of the work week, and approaching the mid 90s during the weekend.
Conditions along the East Coast may remain slightly cooler thanks
to onshore flow, with highs in the mid to upper 80s through
much of the period.

.AVIATION...
(18Z TAFS)
Issued at 1218 PM EDT Tue Apr 16 2024
VFR conditions will continue through the TAF period. Easterly
winds will prevail sustained at 10-15kts with gusts 20-25kts
during the day, and then decreasing to near 10kts overnight. The
one exception will be KAPF where a shift to the W-SW can be
expected mid-afternoon.

.MARINE...
Issued at 1218 PM EDT Tue Apr 16 2024
A moderate to fresh easterly wind flow will continue across
the local waters through the middle of the week as high pressure
remains in place over the Western Atlantic. These winds will slowly
subside and become southeasterly heading towards the end of the
week as the surface high weakens and shifts eastward. Seas across
the Atlantic waters will range from 2 to 4 feet through the
middle of the week while seas across the Gulf waters remain at 2
feet or less.

.BEACHES...
Issued at 1218 PM EDT Tue Apr 16 2024
Moderate onshore (easterly) flow will remain in place through
Wednesday, maintaining a high risk of rip currents for the east
coast beaches. The risk will begin to decrease Thursday into the
late-week period as winds decrease.
