24 hour basin average rainfall ending 8:00 AM Monday was less than
a tenth of an inch over parts of the Watauga and Yadkin river
basins. Forecast rainfall ending 8:00 AM Tuesday will be one to
three inches in the Watauga and Yadkin river basins and along the
southern Blue Ridge. Elsewhere, a half an inch to one inch will
fall. Impacts on area river stages over the next three days will
be moderate as all levels may rise several feet. Small creeks and
streams could reach flood stage along the southern Blue Ridge if
enough rainfall occurs.
