Open Lake Forecast for Lake Superior

For waters beyond 5 nautical miles of shore on Lake Superior.

Waves are the significant wave height - the average of the
highest 1/3 of the wave spectrum. Occasional wave height is the
average of the highest 1/10 of the wave spectrum.

.SYNOPSIS...Broad high pressure of 30.4 inches over Quebec and the
Lower Great Lakes will build to 30.5 inches as it shifts to New
England and the Maritime Provinces today. Meanwhile, low pressure of
29.4 inches over western Kansas will deepen to 29.2 inches today as
it lifts to eastern Nebraska. This low will continue to track
northeast, weakening to 29.6 inches by the time it reaches northeast
Lake Superior on Saturday evening. On Sunday, 30.5 inch high
pressure will build over northern Ontario as a 29.6 inch low
pressure lifts northeast across the central Plains. This low will
continue to track northeast, crossing western Lake Superior during
Monday. As the low moves over northern Ontario Monday night, a weak
30.0 inch ridge will shift east across the Mississippi Valley. On
Tuesday, the ridge will shift toward the Appalachians as the next
low pressure of 29.7 inches tracks from North Dakota to far northern
Minnesota.
