Open Lake Forecast for Lake Superior

For waters beyond 5 nautical miles of shore on Lake Superior.

Waves are the significant wave height - the average of the
highest 1/3 of the wave spectrum. Occasional wave height is the
average of the highest 1/10 of the wave spectrum.

.SYNOPSIS... The 29.4 inch low pressure has lifted north into the
Hudson Bay this evening and 30.2 inch ridging continues to build
over much of the central CONUS. Thursday, the pressure gradient
slackens as ridging to the south and west weakens to 30.1 inches
and the low over Hudson Bay weakens to 29.6 inches. Friday, a 30.0
inch ridge builds over the lake associated with a 30.2 inch high
over the northern Canadian Prairie provinces. Friday night, 30.0
inch ridging holds over the lake as a 29.7 inch low approaches the
southern portions of the Great Lakes basin. As the low enters the
Lower Great Lakes on Saturday, a 30.3 inch ridge over northern
Manitoba will extend a 30.1 inch ridge over Lake Superior late
weekend into early next week.
