.DISCUSSION...
No hazardous fire weather conditions are expected at this time.
An initial wave of showers and thunderstorms continues to move
across the state this morning. Rain chances are expected to ramp
up later this morning with widespread wetting rain and isolated
thunderstorms overspreading the area through midday. Rainfall will
gradually come to an end from west to east over the course of the
afternoon (after ~1-2PM). Additional rainfall totals today will
range from roughly a tenth of an inch to half an inch.
Temperatures tonight will quickly cool as a drier and cooler
airmass moves into the region. With forecast lows in the mid 30s
across far northeast GA some areas of frost may develop in those
areas. Minimum RH values should not be much of a concern for today
but will need to monitor values on Monday with conditions drying
out quickly overnight.
Skies will be mostly cloudy today but will quickly clear late this
evening through the overnight hours. Surface winds will start off
from the N/NW (more NNE in east-central Georgia) at 8-12 MPH
switching more to the N/NNE overnight into Monday at <= 10MPH. 20ft
winds will behave similarly. Transport winds will also take on a
northerly component though values will range from 10 to 22 MPH.
