The National Weather Service office in Greenville-Spartanburg SC will conduct surveys today, May 10, of damage which occurred with severe thunderstorms the evening of May 8 into the early morning of May 9. The areas of consideration are mainly in Jackson and Buncombe counties, North Carolina, as well as Anderson and Laurens counties, South Carolina. Final assessments including results of the surveys are expected to be completed and transmitted via Public Information Statements by 7 PM EDT.
