.DISCUSSION...

A cold front will continue to progress southeastward and out of
northern AL by early this evening, with the risk for scattered
thunderstorms ending with the passage of the cold front. Low
stratus clouds and patches of light drizzle (or perhaps some light
rain) will exist north of the shallow frontal boundary on
Saturday morning, with the northern edge of a broader complex of
convection to our south bringing a bit more persistent light rain
Saturday afternoon and evening. This could be followed by another
round of light rain during the early morning hours on Sunday, that
would end by early afternoon. Due to mixing heights of 2500-3500
ft and transport winds of 15-20 MPH, smoke dispersion will be
fair-generally good both Saturday and Sunday. The outlook for the
extended period calls for a cooler/drier airmass on
Monday/Tuesday, featuring MinRH values in the 30-40% range both
afternoons. Low-level moisture will gradually return through the
end of the work week, with rain chances increasing once again by
early next weekend.

Fog potential over the next few days: Patchy fog will be possible
in valleys and near large bodies of water early Monday morning.

Potential for Red Flag Conditions: None at this time.
