Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Kentucky
National Weather Service Jackson KY
458 AM EDT Sat May 4 2024

.DISCUSSION...Showers and thunderstorms will be in the forecast
over the next several days, a series of weather systems move
through the region. The afternoon and early evening periods will
be the most active, during peak heating and when instability is
at a maximum. Winds will be generally from the south or southwest
through Monday at 5 to 10 mph, and light and variable each night.
Southwesterly winds will strengthen to 10 to 15 mph on Tuesday,
as a stronger system moves through, and could gust to as high as
20 mph at times. With persistent wet weather expected to be in
place for the next week, fire danger should be at a minimum at
best across eastern Kentucky for the foreseeable future.
