FOR THE WINTER SEASON /DEC JAN FEB/ THE GRAND FORKS UNIVERSITY (NWS)
HAD BELOW NORMAL TEMPERATURES AND WELL ABOVE NORMAL PRECIPITATION.

THE GRAND FORKS UNIVERSITY (NWS) AVERAGED 7.1 DEGREES WHICH WAS 3.8
DEGREES BELOW NORMAL. THE COLDEST SEASON RECORDED WAS THE 1935/1936
WINTER SEASON WHICH AVERAGED -4.5 DEGREES.

PRECIPITATION FOR THE SEASON TOTALED 2.49 INCHES WHICH WAS 0.54
INCHES ABOVE NORMAL. NORMAL PRECIPITATION FOR THE WINTER SEASON IS
1.95 INCHES. RECORD PRECIPITATION FOR THE SEASON IS 4.39 INCHES
WHICH WAS SET BACK IN THE 1995/1996 SEASON.

SNOWFALL FOR THE WINTER SEASON WAS MUCH ABOVE NORMAL WITH A TOTAL OF
46.7 INCHES...WHICH IS THE FIFTH HIGHEST ON RECORD. NORMAL SNOW IS
28.2 INCHES WHICH MAKES THE SEASON TOTAL 18.5 INCHES ABOVE NORMAL.
