.Summary...
Thanks largely to very cold weather in late December and January,
this was the coldest winter in several years. Also, due largely to
heavy rainfall during the fourth week of December and during much of the
latter half of February, this was the wettest winter in nearly 80 years,
and one of the wettest winters ever recorded. For the first winter in two
years, snowfall was above average.
.Seasonal Temperatures...
The average high, low and seasonal temperatures were the coldest since 2014-
2015.
There were 48 days with low temperatures at or below freezing, which was
the most since the winter of 2013-2014.
There were eight days with high temperatures at or below freezing, which was
the most since winter of 2010-2011.
There were nine days with low temperatures at or below 20 degrees, which was
the most since the winter of 2000-2001
There were two days with lows at or below ten degrees, which was the most
since the winter of 2000-2001.
The coldest temperature during the winter was five above zero, and this was
the coldest winter temperature at Pine Bluff since the winter of 1989-1990.
.Seasonal Rainfall...
There were 36 days with measurable rainfall, which was the most since the
winter of 2012-2013. It was the wettest winter since 1938-1939, and the 3rd
wettest on record at Pine Bluff.
.Seasonal Snowfall...
There were four days with snowfall. This was the most since the winter of
2014-2015. The snow was measurable on three days (January 12, 15, and 16).
This was the snowiest winter since 2014-2015.
