...STRONG THUNDERSTORMS OVER THE SOUTHERN WATERS...

The areas affected include...
  S of Cape Lookout NC to Surf City NC out to 20 nm...
  Waters from Cape Lookout  to Surf City NC from 20 to 40 nm...

At 125 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated strong thunderstorms, capable
of producing winds to around 30 knots. These thunderstorms were
located along a line extending from near Morgan Bay to near Ar355 to
14 nm east of Wr2, moving north at 35 knots.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Mariners can expect gusty winds to around 30 knots, locally higher
waves, and lightning strikes. Boaters should seek safe harbor
immediately until these storms pass.

A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 300 AM EDT for eastern North
Carolina...and the adjacent coastal waters.
