Moderate to heavy snow will continue into the early evening hours
and then diminish from south to north. Snowfall rates of 1 to 2
inches per hour are expected in the heavy snow bands. Northeast
winds gusting to 30 to 40 mph will create significant areas of
blowing and drifting snow and may cause some tree damage and
sporadic power outages.

Extremely difficult travel conditions will continue into this
evening. Snow drifts of six feet or more are possible in rural
areas. If you must travel, bring a shovel, blanket and cell phone
in case you become stranded.
