Open Lake Forecast for Lake Erie

For waters beyond five nautical miles of shore on Lake Erie

Waves are the significant wave height - the average of the highest
1/3 of the wave spectrum. Occasional wave height is the average of
the highest 1/10 of the wave spectrum.

.SYNOPSIS...
A stationary front will wobble near the south shore of the lake
tonight then drift southward on Saturday. On Sunday, low pressure
29.50 inches will move northeast reaching western Lake Erie. This
will buckle the stationary front northward out onto the lake. As
the low crosses Ontario Sunday night it will bring a cold front
across the lake. A ridge averaging 30.10 inches will move across
Lake Erie Tuesday. Low pressure 29.40 inches will reach the
western lakes Wednesday and bring a warm front to Lake Erie.

AFTERNOON...

.TONIGHT...East 5 to 15 knots. A slight chance of rain showers
early, then a chance of rain showers. Rain showers likely with a
chance of thunderstorms late. Waves 2 feet or less.
.SATURDAY...Northeast winds 15 to 20 knots increasing to 35 knot
gales. Rain with a chance of thunderstorms in the morning, then
rain in the afternoon. Waves 1 to 3 feet building to 8 to
11 feet. Waves occasionally around 14 feet.
.SATURDAY NIGHT...Northeast gales to 35 knots becoming east and
diminishing to 30 knots. Rain likely in the evening, then rain
with a chance of thunderstorms overnight. Waves 8 to 11 feet.
Waves occasionally around 14 feet.
.SUNDAY...East gales to 35 knots becoming southwest and
diminishing to 15 to 20 knots in the afternoon. Rain with a
chance of thunderstorms in the morning, then rain showers in the
afternoon. Waves 8 to 11 feet subsiding to 3 to 5 feet. Waves
occasionally around 14 feet.
.SUNDAY NIGHT...Southwest winds 5 to 15 knots. Showers likely in
the evening, then a chance of showers overnight. Waves 2 to
4 feet subsiding to 2 feet or less.
.MONDAY...West winds 15 to 20 knots. A chance of rain showers.
Waves 1 to 3 feet building to 2 to 4 feet.
.TUESDAY...West winds 15 to 20 knots becoming north and
diminishing to 5 to 10 knots. Waves 2 to 4 feet subsiding to
1 foot or less.
.WEDNESDAY...East winds 5 to 15 knots becoming west 15 to
20 knots. A chance of rain showers. Waves 2 feet or less building
