Open Lake Forecast for Lake Superior

For waters beyond 5 nautical miles of shore on Lake Superior.

Waves are the significant wave height - the average of the
highest 1/3 of the wave spectrum. Occasional wave height is the
average of the highest 1/10 of the wave spectrum.

.SYNOPSIS...A low pressure trough over northeast Minnesota
averaging 29.9 inches will sweep across Lake Superior through
this afternoon and quickly push to eastern Quebec and New England
by daybreak on Sunday. A high pressure ridge of 30.2 inches will
follow over the Upper Great Lakes Sunday into Monday, weakening to
30.1 inches on Tuesday. A weak 29.9 inch trough will then slide
over the upper Great Lakes on Tuesday afternoon before a 30.2 inch
ridge of high pressure returns on Wednesday.

.TONIGHT...Northeast winds 5 to 15 knots backing north after
midnight, then becoming west less than 10 knots late. Waves
subsiding to calm to 2 feet.
