.DISCUSSION...
Minimum relative humidities ranging generally between 35 and 55
percent are forecast today, with the lowest readings anticipated
over the Wisconsin River Valley and the highest readings expected
near the Lake Michigan shoreline. Transport winds will turn out of
the east-southeast this afternoon, with readings between 10-15
MPH expected. Said readings will combine with mixing heights in
the 3000-4000 ft AGL range away from Lake Michigan to support good
smoke dispersal conditions. Smoke dispersal conditions are
expected to hold in the fair category closer to Lake Michigan,
where mixing heights will remain lower relative to inland areas.
Periods of showers and embedded thunderstorms are expected Tuesday
morning and afternoon. Given ongoing rainfall, greater relative
humidity minimums are forecast Tuesday afternoon across southern
Wisconsin, with values ranging between 55 and 75 percent.
10-15 MPH transport winds will prevail over south-central and
southwestern Wisconsin, with similar speeds out of the south-
southeast prevailing closer to the Lake Michigan shoreline. Mixing
heights will range between 2500-3500 feet AGL west of I-39, with
lower readings between 750 and 2000 feet AGL anticipated further
east. This will promote generally poor to fair smoke dispersal
conditions in zones east of I-39, with fair to good conditions
prevailing further west.
