Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Western
and North Central for Nebraska
National Weather Service North Platte NE
140 AM CDT Sun May 5 2024

.DISCUSSION...

Strong gusty south to southeast winds are expected today. Humidity
levels though will remain fairly high. Much of western Nebraska
will likely not see humidity values drop below 50%, and north
central Nebraska will drop to around 40%. Gusty west winds develop
Monday behind a cold front and these will continue into Tuesday.
Humidity values both these days will be as low 19-23% across the
Sandhills and southwest Nebraska both days. Somewhat higher
humidity is expected Wednesday onward into the weekend. Winds will
remain gusty from the northwest at times during this period.
