Fire Weather Planning Forecast for East Tennessee...UPDATED
Virginia...and Extreme Southwest North Carolina
National Weather Service Morristown TN
1002 AM EDT Fri Mar 29 2024

.DISCUSSION...

...SLIGHT CHANGES TO WINDS AND RH VALUES TODAY...
...LOW RH AND BREEZY CONDITIONS AGAIN TODAY...

Dry conditions are expected again today, along with afternoon
RH values dropping below 30 percent for much of the forecast
area. In addition to the low humidity, we expect another day of
gusty winds for areas north of the I-40 corridor. In general
wind gusts in the north should be 20-25 mph today, but our
Virginia counties in particular could see some gusts to around
30 mph due to stronger winds aloft there.

Warmer temperatures can be expected through the weekend, with
most places seeing highs reach well into the 70s. The next chance
of rain is expected to arrive Monday night and continue into
Tuesday, with some thunderstorms possible.
