At 342 AM, National Weather Service radar detected a large area of
showers and thunderstorms, some with heavy rain mainly east of
highway 69 in Oklahoma and in northwest Arkansas. Thunderstorms with
locally heavy rain were located in Cherokee county in Oklahoma and
Sebastian and Crawford counties in Arkansas. The precipitation was
in the Fort Smith area. The precipitation was in the Bentonville,
Rogers and Fayetteville area. Movement was to the east at around 20
mph. The average amount where it rained last hour was around one
quarter of an inch with maximum amounts of an inch and a half to two
inches. Coverage and intensity remained about the same as last hour.
The Tulsa area forecast for late tonight and into this morning,
mostly cloudy, a chance of showers and thunderstorms with
temperatures 61 to 65 degrees and northeast winds 5 to 10 mph.
