Fire Weather Planning Forecast FOR S Cntrl and Sern Colorado
National Weather Service Pueblo Co
411 AM MDT Thu Mar 28 2024

...A Fire Weather Watch remains in effect for Friday morning through
Friday evening for Baca County and portions of Las Animas County...

.Discussion...

Dry conditions continue to be anticipated today through Saturday for
most of the district, with chances for light snow showers along the
mountains, especially the central mountains. Precipitation chances
increase area wide Sunday through Tuesday, with the most widespread
precipitation expected Monday.

Critical fire weather conditions remain a concern today through
Sunday, as southwesterly winds start to surge, and dry air
occasionally pushes into the area. Near to spotty critical fire
weather conditions are expected today and Friday, mostly across the
southeastern plains. Critical fire weather conditions expand in
coverage Saturday and Sunday, with critical fire weather conditions
expanding across much of the southeastern plains Saturday, and then
across most of the plains Sunday.

Critical fire weather concerns begin to lessen Monday through
Wednesday, given a cold front passage and an increase in moisture
with an unsettled pattern.

Smoke dispersion rates today and tomorrow will be Very Good to
Excellent for most of the district.
