...River Statement For The Catoma Creek...

.Heavy rainfall during the past 24 hours is producing rises on the
Catoma Creek. However, levels are expected to remain below
established flood stages, and any overflow along the river should be
of minor nature.


The Catoma Creek at The U.S. 331 Highway Bridge.
* At 9:00 PM CDT Wednesday the stage was 4.6 feet.
* Action stage is 17.0 feet.
* Flood stage is 20.0 feet.
* Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 18.0 feet
  early Friday afternoon.
* Impact...At 20.0 feet...Flooding of agricultural lands in the
  vicinity of the U.S. 331 Highway Bridge occurs.


Another statement will be issued by Thursday evening, or sooner if
conditions warrant.

Please stay tuned to NOAA Weather radio or your local media for
later statements concerning this event.

It is emphasized that these forecasts are based on rainfall that has
already occurred and on additional rainfall expected during the next
48 hours.  If more rainfall than is currently forecast occurs it may
become necessary to revise these forecasts upward.
