...STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WILL IMPACT NORTHWESTERN THOMAS AND
NORTHEASTERN SHERMAN COUNTIES THROUGH 515 PM MDT/615 PM CDT/...

At 449 PM MDT/549 PM CDT/, Doppler radar was tracking a cluster of
strong thunderstorms 7 miles northeast of Goodland, moving northeast
at 20 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph and penny size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to outdoor objects is
         possible.

This storm will remain over mainly rural areas of northwestern Thomas
and northeastern Sherman Counties, including the following
locations... Edson.

This includes Interstate 70 in Kansas between mile markers 19 and 49.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.

This storm may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.
