Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Southeast Texas
National Weather Service Houston/Galveston TX
400 AM CDT Thu May 9 2024

.DISCUSSION...

Low clouds mixed with patchy fog is developing again this morning
across Southeast Texas. Through the morning, fog will dissipate
and clouds will lift and scatter, giving way to another warm and
humid day this afternoon. Continued onshore winds will keep
humidity in place, and afternoon RH values will struggle to fall
below 60 percent, even well inland. Though many will stay dry, we
will see the potential for isolated to widely scattered storms to
move into the area from the west late this afternoon and tonight.
Any storms that do form will be capable of becoming strong to
severe.

A weak "cold" front will move through late tonight into early
Friday morning, bringing an end to thunderstorm potential, and
ushering in a modestly cooler, drier airmass to provide some
partial respite from the heat and humidity.
