Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Central Kentucky and Southern Indiana
National Weather Service Louisville KY
356 AM EDT Sun May 5 2024

.DISCUSSION...Showers and thunderstorms are possible once again this
afternoon, mainly along and east of a line from Bowling Green to Frankfort.
Farther west, drier air is expected to move in behind a weakening cold
front, limiting the chance for showers and storms this afternoon. Where
storms do develop, they should be more isolated than the past few days.
Tonight, another wave of more widespread showers and embedded thunderstorms
will move into the area from the southwest, with on and off rain continuing
into Monday. Light winds and elevated low-level humidity will limit mixing
and smoke dispersal over the next few days. Multiple waves of potentially
strong storms are possible during the middle of the upcoming week.
