Mostly quiet conditions continue through this week. Gusty northwest
winds during the afternoon until the end of the week. Generally
20-25 mph with a few locations along the coast and ridgetops seeing
gusts to 35-40 mph. Warming and drying trend on  track for the rest
of the week. Overall good overnight recoveries  despite the warming,
though inland areas and locations above about 2000 feet will see
decent but more limited recovery Wednesday and Thursday nights with
humidities in the 30s to lower 40s. Cooling  trend and next
potential for light rain by the weekend.

Gusty northwest to north winds will continue across portions of
Southwest California through Tuesday night, strongest in the
mountains, Antelope Valley, southern Santa Barbara county, and San
Luis Obispo County coastal foothills. These areas can expect peak
wind gusts between 35 and 50 mph, with isolated gusts as high as
55 mph across the Interstate 5 corridor and near Montecito Hills.
Continued warm and dry conditions across the interior with
humidities lowering to between 8 and 25 percent on Tuesday across
the interior and foothills. The lower humidities are also expected
to become more widespread across the Santa Ynez range and adjacent
foothills of southern Santa Barbara county on Tuesday and Tuesday
night.

On Wednesday, the flow is expected to shift to the north to
northeast with gusty winds mainly focused across the mountains,
Santa Clarita Valley, and  the Central Coast and adjacent foothills.
These areas can expected wind gusts in the 25 to 45 mph range,
strongest in the mountains. The drying trend will become more
widespread by Wednesday, with humidities lowering to between 6 and
20 percent in wind prone areas. By Wednesday night and  Thursday, a
weak to locally moderate Santa Ana wind event is expected across the
region, with the focus of winds in the mountains, Central Coast
foothills, as well as the wind prone valleys of Los Angeles and
Ventura counties. These areas could potentially see northeast winds
gusting between 25 and 40 mph, with humidities falling to between
5 and 20 percent on Thursday. Dry and mild weather is expected to
continue on Friday, then a cold low pressure system will bring a
